Assert (assertion, assertive): To act forcefully or aggressively. Often taken to mean: to express anger and hostility. A more wholesome view of assertion is: to represent something, usually some aspect of oneself, honestly, directly, and forcefully. In the highest sense, it is the use of intention, thought, words or deeds in such a way as to creatively interact with the world; to be positively creative.
