Assembling a Whole Spiritual Life
Because human beings are children of God, all people are naturally drawn to spiritual feelings and pursuits. And as we mature, there comes a point in each individual's life when the spiritual journey becomes a consciously chosen and energetically pursued enterprise. However, because of our animal origins and egoic natures, our spiritual impulses and self-transcending efforts are hampered by deeply ingrained habits. As a result, spiritual life feels a little like a battlefield at times.
We need a good "fort to fight from," and we need strong allies to avoid a long and ineffective struggle.
